L/S Darning Foot 5mm

The Darning Foot is used to both mend over holes and tears, and to perform decorative stitching by way of Free Motion. Attach the darning foot to the presser bar with the lever positioned over the needle clamp screw. Drop your machine’s feed dogs, or if not an available function, use a darning plate to disable them. Place fabric, ideally secured into an embroidery hoop. Lower the foot and sew at a low speed, moving the fabric back and forth, and alternate to 90 degrees to secure over tears, or manoeuvre over a drawn design.
